I’ll admit for this post that I watch ‘The View’ pretty regularly. I can’t get enough of Elizabeth, Whoopi and Barbara. It isn’t something I am extremely proud of but I am man enough to admit that at 10a.m. I have a place on the couch. The remote and I have a date with 5 women, coffee and gender enlightenment.
I encourage any male reading this to try and watch the view a bit more often. It does give some insight into women of an older age. If anything I believe it gives me understanding for later in life when I am dealing with a more sophisticated woman.
Well, I watched the View yesterday and the guest was Kanye West. Mr. West seemed to be extremely normal (He’d even admit) compared to his previous TV experiences. He was on the show to talk about his album, his art and importantly his foundation.
He created a foundation focused on bring new music equipment into schools. He commented about how Soulja Boy Tell em made his first million dollars with high school musical equipment. That is pretty impressive to think I come from a wealthier family than Soulja Boy. I have access the much better equipment (all around) yet I am still not a millionaire. Seems it must be in the touch, BRB quick -- I’ll put some coca butter lotion.
Kanye did plug a concert he is doing for free. He performs for high schools connected with his foundation that have the highest attendance over a period of time. He told the school he would do it and the next day they had 93% attendance. He says in the video it was the highest ever. I want to go. If you want to get involved here is the foundation website.(http://www.kanyewestfoundation.org/)
Kanye on ‘The View’ didn’t seem to hold his own with the women. He seemed a bit reserved and almost like a deer in headlights. Barbara did put him on the spot for a freestyle that was pretty clean in terms of Kanye’s style.
Overall, I like to see Kanye West, he seems so fresh. I mean ‘fresh’ as a cutting edge style. That was for the non-urban readers, the individuals on the $2,500 Macbook Pro who do not use the software for more than Itunes, Safari and Chess.
I have given the link to the video. It is right on Kanye’s own website. I love the title ‘Kanyeuniversity’ that is just so stylistic of Kanye West. His mother was a professor, that might be his inside way of paying tribute to her. What a sad situation (to lose your mother during elective surgery) to go through as a celebrity.
All eyes on you to make a mistake. Yet Kanye did handle it well, making a great CD and not killing himself. That is kind of like his ‘View’ experience. All eyes on him but he didn’t make any mistakes. You saw Kanye want to be more human and talk like normal people but his celebrity gets in the way with the women. Easiest to tell in his eyes.
