Finding You - Empowering Yourself To Become Who Ever You Want To Be

Good Evening, My name is Dustin Norman and I want to make you a dream achiever.

We all would like to become an A-list celebrity, change the world or positively affect billions of peoples lives, right? But the question is: Do we believe we can? If not, then we never be able too but, if we do, we can and will. --- Because just as Henry Ford once said, If you believe you can or cannot, you’re right.”

Tonight I am going to convince you, that you’re power to become whoever you want, do whatever you’ve dreamed and have everything you’ve ever wanted is inside you.

This is the same belief held by influential, famous and highly respected people. The ideas are embraced by: Oprah, Will Smith, Thomas Edison, Orville & Wilbur Wright and many others.

Realize now, that these people are no more talented, intelligent or enlightened than us. Oprah was born out of wedlock to poor teenage parents, who were a housemaid and coal miner in segregated Mississippi. Similarly disadvantaged neither Orville or Wilbur Wright received a full high school education.

Their power did not come from being born into privilege but by creating their circumstance around themselves through one simple tool: The power of thought.

The same ability is now being explained you. We all have it and now I will explain how to harness, control and shape life to become whatever we all imagine.

To begin we must all realize to become a master of thoughts it requires personal dedication to ones self. There is a difference between talent and skill, what I am speaking about is skill that is mastered by learning a craft.

First to learn the craft you must believe that you can. Truly believe inside of yourself. Believe that you can accomplish, become and possess everything you desire.

Simply, you must be unrealistic. I know you’re thinking already about what you want and in the back of your mind their is a voice that says, “that isn’t possible, or I can’t do that, or I’m not good enough.” I ask you now, --- STOP.

Whenever we start to think realistically it’s important to remember the words of actor and power of thought user Will Smith. He says to people who are afraid of being unrealistic, “Being realistic is the path most often travelled to mediocracy.”

Now that you know his words you’re thinking, those are just words but are they? Think about Barack Hussein Obama and his thoughts in February of 2007 when we he announced his presidential candidacy. Do you believe at the time he was being realistic?

In 1878 when Thomas Edison decided he would invent a long lasting light bulb and then failed over 3,000 times, was he being realistic by still believing he could achieve his dream? Many at the time said, “NO” but thankfully for us, he wasn’t realistic, he believed in the unrealistic.

This is what I’m talking about, we must believe in the outcome no matter how impossible or improbable it seems.

We must actively control our thoughts. Our thoughts are the only thing we can control. We must believe, we must know and truly understand that dreams, ideas and thoughts are physical things. Just as real as a tree or rock. If you don’t believe me, then how did the two Wright brothers invent the air plane before receiving their high school diploma?

If ideas, thoughts and dreams aren’t real, how did Dr. Martin Luther King triumph in the face of a legally, socially and morally corrupt system? I will tell you, it is because these men knew the same thing we know: Thoughts, ideas and dreams are all as real as the roof over our head.

This why we can flick a switch to turn on a light and sit on an airplane for 3 hours arriving in Chicago. Because thoughts and ideas are real. A dream is the reason all of us in this room have the same rights and privileges.

Our third and final step is action. We must aligned our beliefs, control our thoughts and then we must act accordingly. We can believe we can skydive, think through the proper steps to land safely but if none of us never pull the cord when the time is right --- SPLAT! --- We can’t skydive.

So we must follow the natural instincts of our beliefs and thoughts. Our thoughts and beliefs will focus our actions in that direction. We just need to be willing to follow the path.

This is the positive placebo effect. The effect proven repeatedly in clinical psychology tests with sugar pills, but the difference is we aren’t tricking ourselves.

This is believing in ourselves, controlling who we are and becoming who we want. It cannot be forgotten that we must do this daily. It’s the same as building a brick home. If any one of us tried to lay a brick house in one attempt, we would fail but if we lay every brick as perfectly as a brick can be laid over and over, day after day. Eventually we will all have a perfect, beautiful brick home.

OK, I understand that’s a bit much in 6 minutes but if your not persuaded. Try an experiment for 3 days. Every time you drive a car. Believe that people are polite drivers. Think about being a polite driver yourself and then align your actions with that belief. After 3 days of driving take a mental note of what you notice about drivers. Is driving more pleasant? Did rude drivers disappear?

From now on you know what you’re creating everyday. Become preoccupied with positivity and block out thoughts of negativity. You have control and this is your life. We all create, dictate and become whatever we wish.

Now that we all know, we can all seize our dreams.

Thank you, Good Day
