I have 10 personal commandments. Choices I've made about how I will live my life. Kind of a style guide to who I want to be or how I want to live. Because I see it as Thomas Jefferson said, " “I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.“
1.) Live healthy - food & fitness
2.) stay focused - never look back
3.) use time wisely
4.) write/express 2 hours a day
5.) live centered spiritually - meditate, pray & yoga
6.) set goals & rewards
7.) be honest
8.) treat others as you want to be
9.) live well - read
10.) remember sleep
These are daily principles of course, not laws of my life. Outside of these basic 10 I have goals for work, relationships & specific dreams but these 10 keep habits that I believe allow me to succeed.
I'll leave with you Aristotle's words, "Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit."
Now I'll ask you, what commandments do you live by?
